STRONG-SEAL® ROOF FILL MATERIAL

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

1.00 GENERAL

1.01 DESCRIPTION

The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment to install Roof Fill Material as specified herein.

1.02 DELIVERY AND STORAGE OF MATERIALS

All materials shall be delivered in their original unopened packages and protected from exposure to the elements. Damaged or deteriorated materials shall be removed from the job site.

1.03 ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Roof Fill Material is for exterior application and used for lightweight insulating concrete deck construction and replacement. Roof Fill Material is to be applied when the outside temperatures are 40 degrees or above for the first 24 hours after application.

2.00 MATERIALS AND MIXING

2.01 MATERIALS

A. Roof Fill Material as marked by Strong Seal® Systems.

B. Water- Potable, free from impurities.

2.02 MIXING

Add 6-8 gallons of water to one bag of Roof Fill Material and mix until all dry material is wet and workable. Only the amount of water necessary to have mix pumpable and flowable in hose shall be used.

3.00 INSTALLATION

3.01 EQUIPMENT

Shall be of special design to insure proper mixing in as short a duration as possible.

3.02 PLACING OF MATERIALS

Materials shall be placed in a continuous operation. Material shall be screeded with a straight edge. No tamping, rodding, vibrating or steel troweling is necessary. When Roof Fill Material is used to slope for drainage, screeds shall be set to proper grade to insure slope.

3.03 CURING

No traffic shall be allowed on deck until deck will support traffic without damage (24 - 36 hours). In very dry weather the deck shall be sprinkled with water to prevent drying out. Otherwise the roof membrane shall be applied as soon as the deck has sufficient strength to support foot traffic and the surface is dry enough to develop adhesion between the deck and hot asphalt or pitch. Under normal conditions this will occur within three to five days.

WARRANTY

The Strong Company warrants that this product was produced in conformity with its standard specifications or formulations within recognized tolerances, free of adulteration or contamination, and that the product will perform in accordance with the representations in Strong-Seal® Systems' literature and technical data sheets when properly applied in strict conformance with the printed instructions on this container and prescribed in technical data instructions and when applied to a properly prepared surface.
